This elopement-turned-small wedding was beautifully set in Brooklyn. Kasey & Charlie flew in from Nova Scotia to NYC as it has been considered to be their second home. Many of their friends have gathered to help make their wedding happen including their friend who officiated and another baked the cake.
Kasey was also very crafty and had a surprise for Charlie during the ceremony. She had prepared a denim jacket and sewn on patches which read her new last name and bedazzled the bejeezus out of it. During the ceremony, in her white dress, she prepared for her vows by throwing on the jacket she had made, sunglasses and RAPPED her vows to the tune of “Empire State of Mind” for Charlie. She dropped bars and everyone just had a blast, myself included.
Photos at DUMBO was just magical: the lighting was unreal and the moment was right. It was a short drive from the original venue where the rest of the party was hanging out at the rooftop overlooking the Manhattan skyline for some Roberta’s Pizza (If you haven’t had it yet, its pretty darn good!) The partied continued on for some shuffleboard and Eritrean food at the Royal Palms Shuffleboard Club.
